Parenting.Big One Preparation
I have been relying on my parents and still very much. They have been helping me to pick up Lucas from his 奶奶's house when hubby is not in town, so I do not have to make another round to pick him after work. It also means, I can go home right away and do not have the fear of him dozing off in the car and being waken up when alighting, thus becoming active again! Because my father drives a lorry, he gets to have a "nicer" view and with my mum to keep him alert. One chore off my list, a happy chore added onto their list.
I really do not know how long this is going to last. Sometimes, I wonder what if my father does not have a lorry. I have become very dependent on them. While I let my mind run wild, I almost forgot that Lucas will grow up one fine day. Perhaps, I should just treasure and feel blessed.
10 more days and Lucas is officially a toddler. Omg! I am already a mother for one good year. Other than the mother instinct and my figure, I think I did not really change. Yes, I did not.
Back to my turning-one-year-old baby. I am a little jealous. Lucas was one of the earliest to crawl and cruise, but many others are ahead of him now- already walking. Actually, he has been able to stand without support, walked very well with the push walker, and takes a few good steps occasionally. We haven't really been encouraging him to walk on his own, but hubby always feels that he needed that to build his courage as he's afraid of falling. Perhaps I should start to train him!
OOPS!!!! I sound like a typical parent who is making comparison and anxiously wants him to walk soon! Suppressed! Suppressed! I need to suppress my anxiety, and swallowed my jealousness, he will give us the little surprise on a good day, I am sure!! Wohoho!
Let's focus on his big one party! I have plenty of ideas way before this. As the date draws nearer, I kept everything simple. The only thing that I could not was the guest list. However, I do not have a choice, I have to also keep my guest list simple else it will be like planning another wedding.
As usual, there will be balloons, buffet and cake. It all worked out within our budget. No disney or barney themes. However, we do have our own color for dress code. Probably, will encourage our guests to join us in shades of blue/ yellow, but no obligations. I didn't have much time to really source around for a suitable banner, so I decided to DIY it in blue and yellow like what I found on the internet few months back. Here.

The tools.
Yes, I drew the circles with the compass and cut them. It wasn't tedious like I thought (because i hate arts and crafts). Printed the words on the yellow paper and yes, I am supposed to cut them. A different step on different night. I hope I will not wait till last minute to complete this (because I hate arts and crafts).
While I always aim to sleep by 12mn but I only managed to by 1am. And now, it almost 2am. My me-time is so precious.
Good night!
