23.06.2010 A Fruitful Day.

It was a long and fruitful off day for me.

We wanted to go for a nice meal before the actual activity began. We were planning to have lunch at Cocotte, however, we- all 3 of us- woke up too late before they closed for their first half of the day.

I suggested Cafe Hacienda since they do not close in between and I miss their beef cheeks pita wrap since the last visit for Yen's birthday. And it's very much on the way to our actual venue today, we headed towards it. While I was happily thinking of what to order for lunch later, and even happier to be at Dempsey with him (because it's very difficult to get him to bring us to places), it was really a GREAT disappointment to see Cafe Hacienda was closed for renovation. :~(

As time was running out, we ended up settling our lunch at IKEA, Alexandra. Filling us up with grilled chicken, chicken wings and meatballs. How nice huh? Lucas had his huge share of bun after his porridge. Sometimes, we were glad he is active, else, he would have probably become an obese baby.

With all our tummy satisfied, we depart to our main activity for the day - Telok Blangah Forest Walk and Henderson Wave.

It was around 3:30pm and I was so glad that the sun was not too glaring. In fact, it was quite a nice weather. There were countable numbers of people. Lucas wandered on his own, going up and down in his toddler steps, walked away and returned to us. He will stop occasionally and "wow" at the scenery, and he moved on again. He got tired too. We knew when his steps started to slow down. I would offer to carry him a little while and gave him some water to drink. After a short break, we moved on. He was all good and well behaved for that matter. :)

We set off for home before the knock off peak on the traffic. Lucas already dozed off with my mobile, which was playing nursery rhymes, in his tiny hands.

While he's still oozing, I quickly made some dinner with instant packed Laksa and some yong tau hu.
My parents came over in the night just want to spend a bit of time with their little precious. That gave us a break. Hubby dragged me along for a jog. It has been the longest while since my last jog. I couldn't recall when. 2 rounds around our neighbourhood, that's about 1.6km, hubby said. Good enough for me. :D

When I reached home, it was just nice to remove the banana bread from the oven. And yes, I whipped up a dough before I left for my run and had my mum to watch the time

Say that I am very into baking recently. In fact, I like when it was real simple and fuss free. This, even though a bread, it does not use yeast and neither we need to let it some time to rise. Furthermore, it did not require an electric mixer! I have always wanted to attempt this recipe because it is very good to serve as snack and/or breakfast for Lucas and us. :)

It turned out really well. The whole family likes it despite i did not add any sugar to it. Should go very well with jam, honey and/ or butter.

Attatin from Mad Hungry. Tessy's Banana Bread.
I do not have the recipe in hand now. Would love to share it with friends who will be interested. I shall update the post on it again. :)
