A phase too fast, a little big surprise everyday.
I am a little inspired by some stay at home mums. Well, I must say most that I come across has a better doing household... so, I shall dream on. Hahaha... From Mother's Inc, I came across her blog. Such a creative mummy, so much for me to look upon. Setting my own expectations, it is not possible to be doing what she is doing. At least, I am coming across more ideas and inspirations.
As you all may guess from my previous post, I have been researching on Montessori teaching method. It is a little too early to implement on Lucas, but I am really anxious to introduce practical life to little Lucas. Oh well, it meant his exposure to his daily life. Haha.. In her blog, she has some ideas which is quite different from most mummies I came across, less scary, less fuss, less advanced for the right stage. It could be just a little bit of the daily experience that can leave a great impact for the little brain. I deemed it good because I am not a great routined mummy. And what I really like is that it's all hands-on and plays, no book, no flashcards. Curious toddlers will be more than happy to get themselves involve. I am not sure about yours, but definitely mine!
I still do flashcards with Lucas. There were 2 sets which we have been constantly showing him. Until one day, I realised he has stopped going for the cards as much as before, so I guess it's time I should look for more printables online before he start to get bored as I have flashing the same sets since infant stage. Indeed, he is liking the new sets. But because I kept the new sets away, instead of letting him to mess them everytime he sees them, he will ask for more rounds, "more, more!" I felt a need to push myself to look for more printables before these sets die off.
One thing that I must pen down before I forget, especially for daddy's sake. On 28th September 2011, Lucas turning 17months old in 2 days, he recited number 1 - 10 in sequence with his own memory. I would think it's partly because I always let him know that it's time to stop a particular activity after the count of 10. Being cheeky at time, he will say 2 after I said 1. When I said I will count to 3, it meant he better stop misbehave. Also, at the same evening, he manage to put 2 words together- No Turtle. I consider that as an achievement too! :D :D
Back to the mummy's blog, she has more than just about children to share. What I really like is her homemaking experiences, creations she shared. Click on it and spend a little time to browse through, especially her beautiful pictures if u like such category.
So much about my little terror, I hope I can return with some other topics. But, really, my life is mostly revolving around him eh.
Goodnight!
