So much for a day

A day of activities and no nap in the afternoon. That's for me. The morning routine was usual. It's always a little bit busier than the rest of the day. Wanting Lucas to understand the concepts of colours, I tried an activity inspired by a creative blogger. Matching colors. I prepared some IKEA cups and ice cream sticks and demonstrated on matching the right colours.  And on this morning with my help in arranging the cup nicely for him, he manage to do it all correct on his own! I have to say flashcards do wonders.
We brought Lucas out for lunch and spent a little time in the mall that was good enough to make him nap with ease.

I have not been taking nap with Lucas like in the past. Instead, I either occupied myself with things that I want to do or gave myself some quiet moment to relax. Sometimes, if it permits, I would ly on the bed with him till he wakes up.
Here is something that I have created, while the baking was in the oven. Like a number bulletin card, using magnetic numbers and flash cards.
Hubby left for work in the evening. Before that, I made use of their nap time baking. Chocolate Bundt Cake with Chocolate Ganache Glaze. Never had I baked nice chocolate cake. However, this one is a not-so-pretty cake with quite a pretty taste. How can there be no dinner prepared on a day like this. Whipped up some carbonara with sauce from the jar off the shelves and added extra ingredients. That's it. We had one good family day. :D

One last note, I have come to a conclusion that montessori teaching at home may not be so suitable, as it requires high standard of self discipline at home. When I saw how Lucas just turned the bag over and poured all the mega bloks onto the floor, I thought that scene was so familiar. Haha! Anyway, we will just do what we deem is best and do our best. ;p
