Staying At Home.
Time flies, it has been more than a month since I last work. Minus away the holiday, I was a stay-at-home-mum for nearly 2 weeks. Being at home, it does not seem to be less tired. The chores are on-going, repeating and never stop until I decide to leave it till next day, like snowball effect. You might be wondering how is it possible to be like this? Ok, I am saying this if you have a kid at home, or pet (perhaps).
Say we started the day with some home teaching (flashcards, reading, etc.) Then the shelf got messed up and next we rearrange the books (like almost everyday I got rearrange the shelf). Next, he turns to his Thomas and Friends, which I am glad because he can play by himself for quite awhile with that toot toot toy. Therefore, I usually make use of this time to prepare breakfast or complete simple tasks. The next moment you probably hear a loud "Thud! Pom! Klong! Kiang!" Yes, everything else was poured out from other boxes. See, before we could tidy up one session, the other corner will be filled.
Should I scold him? I really don't know but I certainly can't bear to do it just because he wanted to venture on other toys. So, sometimes, I engaged him with some quiet activities like coloring or painting. The next best solution would be turning on his favorite DVD to plaster him on the sofa for at least a good 15min, so that I keep away the unnecessary and prepare lunch.
It's like a cycle, it goes round and round. I have never felt this way because he did not use to have so much time at home. At most night, we practiced clean up time. Now that we are always at home, the clean up time doesn't seem valid at all. Haha. I am just going to treasure this period of time, as much as I could, before I returned to workforce.
Lucas turned 25 months old. He can connect tracks, pile lego/ mega blocks. The lastest, he place tunnels over the tracks. He is like a big child now, he is beginning to have his own thinking and preferences and wanted to do things his way and by himself. Like, he wants to stand on trains holding onto poles and tap the EZ link card on his own. He does not even know how to put on his shoes yet, wth.
Nowadays, he always ends his sentence with "OK?". Like, mummy come back later ok? go playground ok? Find Spencer, James, Thomas ok? All of them ok? Go gai gai at shopping mall ok? Sometimes, he will self console or ask us for assurance when he did not get what he wants. He would say "Later ok? Tomorrow ok?" Ha.
Ok, it's time for me to complete some chores before he wakes up. Hopefully I can return to post something again soon!
