Advent Calendar for this Christmas.

At this age, Big Bro L is starting to have a little knowledge in reading calendar and he knows about occasions like Christmas, New Year and birthdays(of course).

He has been anticipating for Christmas very much because, ever since 2 or 3  months back, we told him he's not going to receive any more presents until Christmas. So he has been talking about December and whenever we pass by a toy department after that, he is always "shortlisting" his presents.

To inject more excitement and mood to this coming Christmas, we made an advent calendar. Search through the Internet for ideas and had them pasted on walls with washi tape. However, they kept dropping whenever the wind blows, so in the end, we have our advent calendar like this.

All ideas taken through Google. And as usual, we took ideas that can utilize ready materials at home and some new ones if necessary.
All were from DAISO!
We also asked around for ideas to fill the calendars. We did not want it to be just filled with chocolates and sweets, the traditional way. After gathering them, we included small toys like "snap" card game, a yoyo, etc. Also little note slips with reminders, encouragements and fun instructions.

Kids being kids. There's no need for us to remind him about this advent calendar. It's the first corner at home he goes to every morning even before he brushes his teeth. How nice if they carry such attitude in everything else.

Hope your Christmas shopping has been going on well so far. Have a good week ahead!
