All about makeup removers.

Image
My girlfriends and I have been talking about beauty lately. Age is catching up and we are on high alert in preventing our skin age even faster. I guess they would also agree much that a good skincare routine would begin with a proper cleansing. Thus, I would love to share what have I been using and starting to use for the very first step, removal of makeup. I always love cleansing oil for removing face makeup and say no to cleansing milk because it always leave behind a sticky feeling that it felt like my face was not properly cleansed. I love how I apply cleansing oil directly onto my face instead of using a cotton pad, and melted the make up as I worked my fingers through my face. I have always been using drugstore brand and was very happy with Hada Labo Cleansing oil. This is my 'n'th bottle. And from the picture you can see that I often use it to the last drop. I chanced upon a review about Bioderma cleansing water and am very excited to try. So, I am going to part...

Cheering up Xmas with xmassy, glittery nails.

Image
Just one week to Christmas, how was your December so far? Mine was not great, which I shall not dwell on them further. But, my heart aches quite bad. Constantly reminding to pick myself up and let it not dampen the celebrations that have lined up coming week. So here are little throwbacks to cheer things up, that's my diy nails manicure to 2 weeks ago. I love sponging method to create gradient. It does not go wrong and so easy to do, except the clean up takes a bit of care and time.  There has been so many snowflakes nail art going around, which just look so pretty. Just last week, I chose an easiest design and it marked my first attempt to draw on my nails. Since its first time, I only make it for one on each side. :D I think it looks more like twinkle star. A week has past since I last paint my nails. I am still on a hunt for a simple, gorgeous design that I can paint it by myself. So stay tune. :)

Glittery French nails. Christmas Wish Lists.

Image
This was a very random glitter french nails, which I did last week. I used Seche base coat for an even nail colour, Etude white nail polish for the french tip, top with China Glaze Fairy Dust and Catrice glitters to camouflage the mess. First week of December was not that great and hope it will glitter on for this festive. Ask me about my wish list for this Christmas. There were too many. Out of that many, these were the one that I really wish to have. Or perhaps, I will bag them myself eventually. YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat - Illuminating not oily, light weight and good coverage. Enough said. Cle De Peau Concealer - so much raves about it but the price is such a hike too.  Kikki - Textured Leather Personal Planner for great 2015! Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Ebony - I want something that's even closer to my hair colour and looks really natural.

Eyebrow Routine

Image
My face is usually bare on weekends if there is no special occasion. However, there is one thing that I cannot leave without even just bringing the kids for a swim and that is having my brows drawn. I have really sparse and thin eyebrows, perhaps due to age and after birth. Embroidery does not really last on me, I am not expecting it to be permanent but the ends of my brow tends to fade off within a month. So far, no beautician is willing to do thicker brows for me because they think I am not suitable for that look. Well, I am not asking for straight, bold brows but just teeny bit thicker than my normal ones so that I look like my age. Perhaps they tried but maybe because my skin is naturally oilier, the ends and sides tends to fade off pretty fast. :D Anyway, doing up my brows probably take up most time of my make up routine. I have good and bad brows days too. Till date, I am still trying to perfect my skill on my own brows cos they are major important to me now.  I w...

Catrice Nail Polish and Swatches

Image
If you have been following me on my instagram, you would have known I have been picking up a new habit, diy manicure. And these days, I have been drawn to this drugstore brand Catrice that I swept a few bottles of their nail polishes, on different occasion within a few days. :D Let's do some swatches of my picks. :) 57 Karl Says Très Chic Nude Pink. Sweet and elegant at the same time. Friends were hunting for this after they saw it on my nails but it's sold out island wide at that time! 56 Minter Wonderland   A color that is not my norm. It's a good change and not too neon nor too pastel. Secretly wish it can be a little brighter.  Limited Edition Le Grand Bleu   There's a sheen of glitter, mettalic, frost.. I can't descibe this. I adore this dark navy that's so versatile!   20 Meet Me At Coral Island   My favorite of the loot! Such pretty shade of coral. Subtly bright and I feel so happy just by looking at my nails....

Sleek Blush by 3, Lace

Image
Let's talk makeup. I made my first purchase from Sleek makeup and it was when Luxola was having a store wide 35% off about 3 days ago. I picked Sleek Blush by 3 in Lace. I fell for it for the price and how pretty the palette looks on their website. Also of course there were so much raves about Sleek blushes as comparable with high end make up. I purposely enhance original photo I took and this is closer to the true intensity of the palette. Pretty scary huh... However, they look gorgeous for a drugstore cosmetics. Knowing it is really pigmented, I gave it a gentle stroke at first time of use and to my horror, I looked so dolled up! And I had to quickly use a tissue paper to dab away the excess and brushed over with another layer of powder. So at my second usage, I think I merely dab it and I get the right natural tone. Looks like this palette is going to last me really long. It's 3 colors in a palette, how should one use it? Just pick the color base on your mood th...

Color Show by Maybelline

Image
Bagged 4 of these today in Watsons at 1-for-1 promotion. Amazingly smooth application, and looks awesome even in one coat. Will probably return to Watsons and grabbed more colors! Happy addition to my weekly diy manicure. I'm a happy princess now. :D

Drugstore Liquid Eyeliner and Foundation

Image
2 drugstore beauty hauls on separate days within a week. Sharing a little on my new purchases and existing ones in my vanity. 1. Liquid Eyeliner Kat-Von-D tattoo liner is only available in Sephora US, thus it is really difficult for me to get hold of one on a usual repurchase. I love this eyeliner and reviewed here .  L'oreal Super Liner was an impulse act. I was so desperate looking for one, and we all knew L'oreal has one of the most lasting and glossy black liner in the drugstores. However, the brush tip is a little thick for my liking.  Still desperately looking for one, I have never splurged on liquid eyeliner before, I settled for Maybelline Hyperliner in 0.03mm brush tip. Why not Japanese brand? As far as I can remember, they smudge on my oily lid most of the time. Quite happy with Maybelline for now, it's easy to control for the thickness of the look that I want, it has not smudged yet and very lasting I would say. 2. Finishing powder Sorry...

Revlon Nail Color in Gray Suede.

Image
The last time I visited nail palour regularly was perhaps around my early twenties, when gel nails was a new trend and the glitters on the nails were simply gorgeous. These days, I only visit a nail palour to finish my sessions of a pedicure package. The nail designs nowadays, are extravagant and less boring, because you can have a different pattern on each nails. The skills and technologies have definitely improved a lot over the years. However, I ain't so adventurous anymore. I love to keep my nails simple, classic, chic. It just show how one's age has changed a person. Hah! Every weekend, usually Saturday night after the children fell asleep, I would spend about half an hour to do manicure on my own nails and will wear a different color for the week.  This nail enamel in Gray Suede 705 by Revlon was a free gift. It is also my current favorite in my collection. It has a little shimmer but so subtle that it gives a natural glow. I always go back to it because it a...

Olay Professional ProX Facial Brush

Image
This is my new toy sitting in my vanity cabinet and have been using for close to 2 weeks. The only reason why I chose Olay over Clarisonic is because it is $$. Every beauty junkie will know a proper cleansing and regular exfoliation will brighten up the skin and allow beauty skincare product to penetrate through more effectively. As I haven't been really taking good care of my skin, it instantly get rid of my dull face on first use.  It comes it 3 level of rotating power. Level 1 for regular cleansing, Leave 2 for exfoliation and Level 3 for microdermabrasion, which is to attach with flat head. Personally, I use level 3 with brush head for weekly exfoliation. As I do have sensitive skin around the cheek area and worried it might caused over abrasion, thus, I only use it in my night time routine. My skin is definitely smoother and brighter. The pores are seemingly cleaner, however I do feel I need some pore minimizing product to make them look more supple and smalle...

Rebooted = Makeup tools on a usual basis

Image
Around Christmas last year, I received Laneige BB Cushion as gift and immediately, I raved about it here .  Recently, a Korean friend recommended me to try IOPE Air Cushion and that's when I found out there are so many brands of cushion foundation in the market. Honestly, I know nuts about technologies. In fact, IOPE looks pretty similar to Laneige on their packaging. Since, a Korean highly recommends it, thus I made my order through Amore Pacific in Qoo10 and I got it in Natural 21. So what's the verdict after trying out the 2 different major brands in Korea? It's quite difficult to see the difference when I first applied. I did not see that dewy glow on my face, which I was quite worried it will make my face look oilier, but it's that hydrated look that many girls are loving it. It brightens my skin better, but it could be because I am using a darker shade for Laneige. It was by the end of a long long day that I know I prefer IOPE Air Cushion as my face did not ...

Two must have.

Image
Recently, I received this as a Xmas present. I'm not so much of a bb cream user because i dislike the thick musky white waxy finishing on my face. Surprisingly, this bb cushion, just like it boasted, soothing, light and long-lasting. And because it's simple and so convenient, I had to ditch my favorite Double Wear aside for a while, even though I still love it. It is so functional and hides my blemishes just right without need of layering. Definitely, it has quicken my daily make up routine. I finish it off with my favorite guerlain meteorites voyage pressed powder with a powder brush. It blends so well with bb cushion. My face glow all day long.

Estée Lauder Concealer and YSL Lip Stain

Image
My weakness and again. However, I find no excuse because my concealer has really run out and I have not been putting on concealer under my panda eyes for weeks.  I have been a loyal fan of RMK as you can read from here . BUT I have been secretly missing Estee Lauder Double Wear Light liquid foundation very much. I used it years back for work. It creates that dewy look on the face (not oily) and yet gives enough coverage. It's that, I patronized Estee Lauder beauty counter once again. Very much wanted to get it, but I have yet to finish the current bottle of RMK. Thus, I decided to replace my concealer instead. (YES! I am that DISCIPLINED! :p) Unlike RMK concealer which has hydrating and highlight effect, this is just purely for cover up purpose. I was a bit skeptical and worried it will get too dry and create crease under my eyes. After using it for a few weeks, I think my worries were not necessary. Because just like it says on the little tub...

The black ink for brightening my eyes.

Image
Eyeliner is an important tool everyday especially for my droopy eyes. Tried numerous brands from Korea, Japan, USA, and all the different types that you can think of- pencil, liquid, gel. This is all because I am fatal when it comes to raves for a good eyeliner. However, I have really yet to find on that either does not smudge or last long enough on my oily lids. Bobbi Brown gel liner has perhaps one of the highest rating for is long lasting, smudge free wear. I do love it. Because its looks natural on your lids, and its easy and smooth when it glides. It stays on whole day when I applied primer over my eyes, else it does smudge if I don't. That's Bobbi Brown for me. I went into Sephora.com, hoping to look for a liquid eyeliner that can give more intensity and of course, stays and does not smudged. There are so many to choose from and so many with almost the same ratings when i searched. I picked based on my intended amount to spend and the overall reviews. In the end, the...

5th day of Peeling.

Image
The peeling has begun. On the 5th day! My feet are literally faking but I am loving it. :D Warning! The picture may not be the pleasing to your eyes and may cause uncomfort.

Foot Peeling!

Image
We have heard products of skin peeling for the face. This is the first time I came across foot peeling. I only heard of some skin softening solution which pedicurist will mix them into the water for customers to soak their feet in before pedicure. My cousin was highly recommending this Foot Peeling Liquid product and showed me picture of her feet she took during the "transformation" period. She gave a box for me to try. I soaked my feet in it immediately after I received it. I am really hoping it can heal my cracks, dryness and roughness, especially at the heels of my feet. It says it will take 3-5 days to see the skin to start peeling. And probably another week or so for the skin to feel smooth again. According to cousin, the peeled skin will fall all over the place and will also find them in shoes you wear! My feeling after the soak, the skin at the feet felt thicker and a little numb, as if it has gotten drier and tightened. Now, I am pretty excited to s...

RMK Workshop

Image
I really like the steadfastness of the mummies(only) when getting together. It only requires one broadcast message and we get almost immediate confirmation. It just showed how much we are yearning for some chill time together. Every time, we sat and chatted about our kids, family, work, fashion, anything under the sun. Sometimes, we rant. Today, we took some time off from work to attend a girly workshop. Except myself, the 3 of them took half day leave just for some fun! It was totally worth it. RMK Spring Collection MakeUp Workshop where we played with colors on our face. It was really leisure to dine, shop and still manage another session of coffee on a Friday evening before we all head home to reality.
