Books Arrangement.

Image
There is going to be a major change at home and that is our helper will be leaving us in less than 10 days. Thus, I am making use of this period rearranging and organizing some compartments so that I know where are the stuffs after she leaves. Most of the time, we are the one asking her where are the things. I am thinking that I will need everyone in the house hold to help me with chores so that I do not get worn out, as such, I have been working on a schedule, time table, tasks or duty roster whatever you call it for the family! While all these will also require specific as I am speaking 2 kids and a man or 3 children you call them.  My very first concern was the bookshelf that contains the children books. It definitely looks neat in the photo here because my helper has replaced all books. But I have always wanted them to be placed according to relevance. I came across someone who suggested labelling them on instagram and did not think twice about doing it. We a...

Daiso Favorites

Image
I have read about others sharing how they cannot leave Daiso getting nothing, shared some of their few favorites. Likewise, everytime I need something, for the home especially, I will first think of Daiso. So I thought, I shall also share some of the stuffs that are considered my favorite. Timer . This is my second timer from Daiso. So glad that produce a different design over time. This is so small and handy. I used it for cooking, baking and even timing the kids as an indication of an ending to their activites. :) Trays . Be it wooden or plastic. I like little findings like these for containing little things that lie around, especially when they come with small details.   Clock . This is our second alarm clock from Daiso. First, was for our helper. This is for H to read time. He is definitely fascinated by it.   Masking Tapes with pattern. These are definitely my purchase. I used them as labels, for crafts, on wrappers and recently I ...

A small but pretty effort.

These days, time spent at home has been so precious that I use them mostly with my kids. When lights off, after they fell asleep, there are only that much of the things I could do with the helper sleeping in the other room.  Last Sunday, with two kids playing among themselves, I decluttered the kids wardrobe. With RZ's clothes piling, we bought IKEA's storage box for better assortments. In order to help helper better arrange them and my mum to look for them at the correct place, I took a little time off this morning to do some snipping. It came into my mind just last night, it took about at most 15min, and did not cost me additional. Materials and methods are as follow:- 1.a piece of paper for printing the words 2.a pair of scissors for cutting the print out and snipping of the tapes. (i used one with pattern so I do not even have to be so precise in making edges straight and yet nice.) 3.masking tape with design (mine's a daiso) or washi tape as the base...

Smile! It's 2013. :)

Image
2012 is past. Let bygone be bygone. We are heading forward to a fantastic 2013! Happy New Year Everyone!! Like every year, I do not make any resolution. Just my style. Same old wishes, healthy and happiness to my love ones and all around me. However, I have a feeling that this year should be good due to many fabulous reasons. Needless say, we are expecting a new member in the family.  Lucas is officially starting a new year with his school. Father-in-law's egg store reopened on the first day of 2013. What really created the special feeling was that after 6 years, from courtship days till we were married with a child, the hubby was finally around to welcome this brand new year with us! Of course, we were thankful Lucas was in pink of health to be sitting through the countdown with us. The little man really enjoyed himself with the party packs! 4 days had gone by. Our long started spring cleaning is progressing really slowly as I could only do them in the night and be...

Home Organization- wardrobe and drawers.

Image
The organizing of the home has kicked start some time back. The kitchen cabinet was near to completion. Items were arranged into individual baskets, less the labels and my Tupperware. The children's closet still left untouched and their clothes are multiplying. :( Finally, I made a trip to IKEA and gotten Skubb series storage boxes, which me and my aunty loves. My wardrobe are cleared of junks, the clothes in the drawers have been folded in my best and arranged. I'm loving it. Let's see how well it can be maintained 3 months later. :D Another area that I very much wanting to pack would be the long-in-waiting-list study area. :) Where should I begin with next?

Kitchen cabinets, storage ideas.

Image
Days have been passing by too fast!! December, please do not come yet. I am catching every breathe to do everything possible, when I still can. Chasing the toddler, meeting target, having enough time for family and friends. And I needed set aside time for a new Home Project- Organization. Aiming to complete before Lunar New Year 2013. Nothing new. I talked about my plan to organize . I have started with the kitchen instead of the closet for the kids. Not yet complete but I am glad of the kick start. I want to do it because, I cannot stand bags, boxes and unfinished snacks all over the place. I wish it's pleasing to the eyes everytime I opened my kitchen cabinet. LOL! I have got some references from the internet. Huge cabinet spaces I dreamt for. Heart storages solutions like these. Something more to reality. And I hope for some tupperwares. Our kitchen cabinet now This is how's part of our kitchen cabinet interior looks...

Possible Mission for the home.

Image
I have set a few mission for the home. 1. The study area is messy again! There's an urgent need to reorganize and organize! 2. The red shelf. It was a pretty nice splash on the dark wall. But it has become not practical ever since the things in the house is accumulating. 3. His toys. They are piling and piling. He has stopped playing with some of since baby days. Clutters! Clutters! 4. The common bedroom. Almost like a store room already. The queen size bed is under utilize for its main purpose and now taking up so much space for more storage space. *pout* 5. The showcase display. Do you receive a green plastic bag for recycling stuffs? It's one great reminder for me to part something everytime I see it at the door step. 6. Laundry area aka service yard. Training has to be give for proper stowing of vacuum machine. So much to do... Hopefully, I will start on one real soon!

Off Day: With lunching out, indoor play and decluttering.

Image
It was yet another pleasant non-working day. Especially chirpy in the morning. Breakfast was always tastier on these days because there was more time to prepare a nutritional breakfast. Exploring my bowl of salad.  More scooping in action. This time into the funnel. We spent lunch with hubby's friend and thereafter brought him to SingKids for some play time. Love for balls... After the much detested putting-him-to-nap, I did some decluttering. This shoebox has been a great storage tool, except the cover that was always taking space. Today, I decided to snip it away and use it as a book stand. Like finally, I can see the corner of the desk. Recently, I stumbled on this blog- The Imaginaion Tree  through Pinterest, which I really enjoyed. I especially like their Meesy and Sensory Play. I can't wait to get messy with Lucas soon!

Moving on...

Finally, I have got the only shelf in the house organised. I cannot say it is really neat but at least the clutters were gone, book were not over laying one another and removed like 2 bag packs, 2 gym bags, 1 small side sling bag and 3 camera bags! Gosh! Just imagine all in black piling up at the corner just beside the shelf. These bags were all now being transferred to where all the cluttering  was . Now, those bags ans boxes were gone too. I am so glad.  All cleared at the corner! The picture above still shows an area of messiness that's where the toys are. I managed to clear it today, and converted the area to trays and basket of materials, the montessori way. I am not stringent and not the discipline sort. As and when I can, I will do it with him. And it all depends very much if those stuffs in the tray will take his notice.  In fact, I stopped introducing for awhile because of the self declared break due to festive seasons and the overwhelming of Thom...

Clutters. Clutters.

Image
There are just too many stuffs piling up and I am expecting more after this Christmas. Have always been wanting to organise all his toys, books and materials but I always do not know where to begin with. There is no cabinet but only 2 shelves unit at the study area. Simply, we just dump whatever extra into the guest rooms wardrobe. It's really bothering me! Alright, it is because I would love to provide him a better and organised play aka study area. Messy packages in the wardrobe The thing is we also have the big boy comics and backpack(s) lying around the same place. I have to give the big and small boy some fair treatment. Have to be very careful when organising them.. XD In the night, I have been implementing "keep the toys time" before we get to bed. It's most of the time having him watching me kept the toys. There are night that it may just slip my mind and I would do it after he goes to bed. It wasn't too messy even though we tend to find the toys ...

Warmth to the cold cold nest.

Image
Sometimes, I just love focusing on the little details and corners of the house. Just like my profile picture. They may not be the most extravagant but it really provides that homely feel to this cold cold interior. ' Newly added to the dining table. Not the best choice but love the touch of colors.  I just love how the plant added the little cosiness to each corner. Another new addition for Lucas, a writing desk and 2 chairs only at $39. What a great deal from IKEA.  We purchased the desk because Lucas has been loving it. See some examples. It was first introduced by my father as he creatively use the toy box as stool for Lucas to draw on the table. Whenever he gets a piece of paper, he will ask for a pen and vice versa. Look and imagine the concentration at his face. Cute huh.
