How are you? How have we been doing so far? Going to be another year wiser. And I hope I am wiser each year. 2016 was a year of wonderful experiences (good and bad combi), so much to learn. It's short. I am going to miss it I am sure.  Moving forward, will be a brand new challenge in a familiar environment.  Good news. There have been good news in Feb. Embracing for these good news to happen.  Kids. Healthy and happy. Our princess turned 4 about 2 weeks ago. We got her a Sofia Princess gown. She's delighted. Lucas participated in his first Taekwondo competition, it's a great exposure.  Family. Still getting into routine of having a official schooling kid.  New place. Midst of shortlisting a reliable contractor. Electrical appliances and sofa checked. This round, decision making was quicker with past experience. Also, we caught Jacky Cheung's concert last Sat. It was an amazing show.  Lots of blessing in Feb. More to come in M...

Moved.

Happy 51st Birthday, dearest Singapore! We know it is not easy being a small icon sandwiched among the big cities, you have done well and keep it up.  Into the eighth month of 2016, we have moved out of our matrimonial home and our first born has successfully registered for his primary school.  We went for a holiday in March, planned for the boy's birthday in April and officially moved our in end of April. During that 2 months, it definitely took a toll on my energy but for all blessed reasons and I shall not whine.  After months of buyers coming to view, though unbearable but I am glad someone found deemed our place perfect and I felt that they are the most suitable too as they have 2 kids, same age apart just like us. Finally, I get to understand the pain of packing for the move. It's MADNESS but all over.  Space, we shall miss. The corridor, we shall miss.

In the past 10 days.

Leanne was hospitalized last week for a simple procedure to remove a thread-like layer of fats which was found at her lower back. The term is filum terminale. It went smoothly, and her recovery was on track. Surprisingly, she seemed to be very aware of her condition and has been very cooperative. Very blessed to have many people who have visited and cared for her.We brought back pretty much stuffs just for that week. :) Well, however the virus probably has followed us home. Since Sunday night, Lucas has been having high fever that reached 40 degree Celsius on a few occasion. The heat made him a little listless but he still managed to play, read and sit up right for his favorite tv programmes. And thanks to these episodes, I spent quite a fair bit of time at home and with the kids. Ever since I have a helper to outsource my chores, I have not really gotten down to organizing the stuffs. Finally, I pinned a few as things are not in their original state. Though with a helper, ...

One unlucky case. Many grateful moments.

The ONE unlucky thing that happened to me was, my $300 was stolen. (Imagine my devastating face?) Yes! I met a thief. However, I really appreciate the MANY little things that were going around me.  Considerate neighbour even when they are strangers, making sure I pressed the right level button as I was carrying lots of barang (Lucas's bag, Leanne's bag, my bag, groceries from the in laws and a box from iherb). A very service oriented taxi driver who greeted his passenger politely, checking with them if the aircon temperature is comfortable, offer sweets and gave a packet of tissue as part of his service. How not to write him a complimentary letter?  Met a 63 years old lady who is so sweet to buy me barley water and snacks for tea.  Lost and found my handphone after I left it in the toilet! Really thankful to the students who saw me running to the toilet and came back to look for me. I gave them big bear hugs! And yet again, many nice n sweet pe...

Ingenious man of my life.

When I was a child, I always thought my father was creative because he can draw. It's because he used to be a carpenter and did sketches of furnitures, which I was quite impressed. Until, I was always asking him to help me with my art work. And, he did it all the time! I was such a spoilt brat. Another incident that made me really impressed with my own father was during my early adulthood. He dropped his key into the gap between the door of the lift by accident. Naturally, we tried to look very hard into it. Naturally, we thought it could not be retrieved anymore as the gap was too tiny for our hands and it's too deep. While my mum was nagging away, he walked to his truck and came back with two items. A string and a magnet. Simply, he tied the string around the magnet, lowered it into the gap and, in split seconds, the key was out sticking onto the magnet. Oh well... It's really simple, but I would have never thought of that, really. Today, I am thankful for having my f...

Last Weekend of November 2012

Image
Hello Cyber Monday. My weekends had been great. Ok, except in the day of Saturday, when it was rush and hectic and met some crazy people. Everything was great when evening came. Our last hen's night in the group. Oh so sexy single lady. She rocks la! The theme was as usual not a very successful one but we all had fun and it got cosy as we chatted through the night till dawn. Though a hen's night, it's more about us sharing our after marriage life on different topics. Lol. Sunday, the hubby was back. It began with Lucas and the neighbors kids get together, bidding farewell to one of them who will be leaving for China for a few months. Then it followed by a great family cleaning session of our master bedroom. We vacuumed all mattresses, pillows and bolsters, soft toys, every single corners, the wardrobe and drawers. Little tod did his fair share by helping to fill the soft toys and his bolsters into big vacuum bags and removing them thereafter, also pretending to help...

More for the Big 3.

He brought me to Au Petit Salut for dinner on the eve of my birthday for French cuisine. No doubt the dinner was short, I guess it was the quality time that matters.  The lamb rack you are looking at now was juicy and tender. Awesomely yummy at medium rare. It is really hard to find someone who share the love for lamb nowadays. I must share that this is really good. You should try. The escargot was fine, I have not had it for the longest time. It was the dessert that swept me away. Do you know creme brulee was always my favorite? I can have it everyday when I used to travel to Paris. This from Au Petit Salut is exactly like what I had. Creamy, smooth and loving the freshness of the vanilla. I ought to attempt one at home some day.  Beer at Paulaners later in the night with the "brothers". Yes, they naturally added me into the brother gang for the hard truth. I can't say that we were wild and loud but we definitely did it the way we like it. It was not so plea...

Thirtieth

The girls celebrated my 30th birthday in advance. A simple and cosy affair at Riders Cafe, we sat from warm and sunny till cool and rainy. It was made better on a lazy Sunday. How often do we get such a chance?  Croquembouche from The Patissier. Yummy puffs with beautiful details. We had a good time handpicking the favorite flavor and gobbling. No cutting fuss, how great! The girls asked for 3 wishlists. They did pick what I have been wanting for the longest out of the choices.  Somehow it was named the friendship lock. Definitely, precious. Each of us is getting a scrap on our birthday. Now, I understand why it has been  a growing hobby because it really makes the recipient glitters in the eye. Well, at least I really felt a little magical when receiving this.  And more handmade love... I am not a perfect friend. Thank you for standing by me and sparing all the precious patience and kindness all these years... More 30 years for us. Loving ...

Right For the Start

Image
The past two days were quite whelming without the 2 men at home- My hubby and my father. More so when the family has so many activities but we did not have any form of transportation, except public transports. Usually, someone else from the family will make an effort to make sure every folks have the comfort of traveling, and it happened that none was available. It was fine for me but I was quite amused that my mum actually took the little terror on train rides all by herself. Bravo! It was good to know that he was well-behaved in the trains except that he wanted to be carried while walking from the train station. I must really appreciate her effort and pretty sure both enjoyed each other's company. Lucas has grown from babbling. He is talking alot in his toddler language and has been able to understand our words pretty well. Some new phrases this week were "Play with me", "Play this", "好玩". Also, he is starting to ask "Why?", which I thi...

A belated Christmas Present.

Image
My cousin and I had a belated Christmas gift exchange. Both of us exclaimed when we saw what we had gotten for each other! bwahaha!  She got me book all about Cake Pops! The book cover immediately lifted my mood. And I skipped like a little girl when I started to flip the pages. It's colourful, cheery and filled with pretty images. It does not matter if I do make them because I simply love the cutesy of this book! I thought the robots were very welcoming. :D Pictures instructions that are interesting. I am defeated by the ring binder. Even the apple pops look like as if they were talking to me!  I hope I will attempt a cake pop some day, perhaps together with my cousin and work on some fun. Such a happy book, isn't it?

Hello 2012!

Happy New Year to everyone! I have been enjoying every single bit of it till date.  Pancake for us on the last day of 2011. especially yummy for one who yet to dislike and not enjoy cooking by mummy. while waiting for the countdown to begin. He was so happy to be anywhere outside, but home. He experienced fireworks for the first time and got frightened by the numerous loud thuds. Quickly, we went back to the car, still manage a great view. The curiosity did not stop him from watching the fireworks till end. I was glad to have him and my dad by my side on the very first minute of 2012. My new year day was a break away from the tod.  This was the activity I had with a bunch of great buddies.  I am missing the game time spent together during the game.  And, followed by a gathering by great host of new house owner.  My 2012 started great with wonderful gatherings, busy work schedule and a broken down refrigerator. I...

Christmas 2011 Round Up!

Image
It has to be the busiest Christmas for us. We have celebrated in most parties. One started nearly 2 weeks before Christmas and mostly were spent with the closed ones. We gave and received many presents, mostly were his. I have also baked and cooked the most. It is a joy to end a year and making it positive to start the new year.  My very first Christmas present of 2011, from a secret angel who knew our wish. And, a little card that started the Chrismassy mood. Our terror at home has received like 4 sets of Thomas and Friends train set. Hubby and I spent some time figuring them. This one would be the most amazing. Great feast at Aunty Pat's house. She's a great cook in the kitchen and does great bakings.  Hubby bought this for Lucas. Can you guess what is it? A little baking for the tods party. I have no time to snap more and this would be the only picture I have. The base of a bake cheesecake. I did a cheesecake and roasted char siew with th...

Getting Ready for the New Year.

It's half past 3 in the morning. Knowing that the festive seasons are nearing, rather very near, I started to tidy and reorganise some stuffs in the kitchen. Being a home owner for the first time 3 years back, we definitely were inexperience. Now, we are so short of stowing spaces, especially after Lucas enter the house. It takes a bit of detailed arrangement to have things better kept and stowed. To my horror, I still have like 10 boxes of chicken and fish essence yet to be opened and mostly expiring next year. They are choking up my limited spaces! I am so going to have one bottle a day and quickly get rid of them! Well, I came up with some good reasons for having little spaces and that would be lesser purchase of junks and stocking up. It always comes to my mind when I have the urge to stock up the dry stores at home. I wouldn't mind more trips to the supermarkets and having lesser loads to carry or it could mean lesser snacks or instant noodles, thus, healthier lifestyl...

Back and back to the usual routine!

Image
Hello! We are back! Yes, we went away for 4 days to Hong Kong with the little one. It was his first time on the aeroplane and our first holiday experience with a child. We stayed in Cosmo Kowloon, booked a family quad room that was not as big as we expected but definitely bigger than the expected deluxe room. Our routine back at home was totally disrupted, the little one was not used to the food, therefore, we all had junks. He had junks. Mostly bread and biscuit. Manage to stuff some others occasionally. He was surprisingly well behaved except for a few occasion when it's near his nap time. He napped every day without much fuss and after like more than 30 times of "Hickory Dickory Dock". It's packed with fun and dreadfulness. Well, I will try to share more on the trip in near future posts. Lots of work to catch up on and some chores waiting to be cleared. Kudos and enjoy the long weekend people!

Me, working into dawn?

It's really challenging to do information write up with my level of English knowledge. Especially when it's at wee hours. It was made even more challenging when a toddler starts to call you or make some funny noises in his dreams. I almost jumped out from my chair. No, he can't wake up in the middle of the night. Mummy will be dead by daylight. The clock strikes 3. It's high time for me to go to bed. So glad that one thing is off the mind. I want to wake up to tea and dinner. Will catch up with the rest over the weekends. :D Goodnight peeps!

A phase too fast, a little big surprise everyday.

I am a little inspired by some stay at home mums. Well, I must say most that I come across has a better doing household... so, I shall dream on. Hahaha... From Mother's Inc, I came across her blog . Such a creative mummy, so much for me to look upon. Setting my own expectations, it is not possible to be doing what she is doing. At least, I am coming across more ideas and inspirations. As you all may guess from my previous post, I have been researching on Montessori teaching method. It is a little too early to implement on Lucas, but I am really anxious to introduce practical life to little Lucas. Oh well, it meant his exposure to his daily life. Haha.. In her blog, she has some ideas which is quite different from most mummies I came across, less scary, less fuss, less advanced for the right stage. It could be just a little bit of the daily experience that can leave a great impact for the little brain. I deemed it good because I am not a great routined mummy. And what I really lik...

Great as it should be!

The past two weeks was just lethargic! However, it's all caused of HAPPY moments! How cool! 29.08.11 What has really been making me chirpy and chirping was Jacky Cheung's 1/2 Century Tour Concert! He inspires and highly influential, and of course damn charming, for my liking! It's really ecstatic, right from the start to the end of the performance! Be it a musical, tap dance, cantopop, his classics, jazz, it was pretty amazing for a 50 years old to put up such captivating moves and vocal throughout! He simply made me fall in love once again. Yes, I was cynical for a few days. 30.08.11 On the following day, we had another birthday celebration. Though simple, it was cosy enough. The greatest part was, they visited me at Parkway Parade and that reduced our waiting and travelling time. It was made special with a sweet pink mooncake replaced as birthday cake. We had some good quality time catching up! 03.09.11 A wedding dinner that brought back old friends and memories....

August.

Did I mention that this August is going to be hectic?! With short handed people at work and 2 locations to rotate about, full shifts. National day promotions started today for the members, we did not really stop functioning. The good thing was they were all the nice and familiar faces whom I havent met for a long while.. they were the ones who made me still motivated. The website is on red alert! Back to square one and start from scratch! And I predict September would be the same. Both grandmothers are going for holiday during the same period. The lady boss would also be leaving for business trip for almost the whole of September. :( Do you believe this? When I anticipated September will be less taxing, the important people took their turns to break or go on a trip and left me alone. It could be fated because I had my turn in July, fun filled and less tight with more helping hands. I want another month like July! I manage to dig out some time to bake and I am so hoping to sh...

July Gatherings. Lucas turning 15 months old.

There's so much to share within this week, until I was too tired every night that we dozed off almost immediately after Lucas fell asleep. The happenings began on 12th July. Zabrina and I did our first adventure together at Megazip. Climbmax was a great challenge on our strength, both mentally and physically. There was no turning back, no one to help, except for the safety harness, we were all on our own. It was REAL fun! I need to get fitter before I conquer level 3 which is the highest of all. The day did not end there. We had steamboat later at my place with the rest of the girls. Quickly, I whipped up a pavlova , a dessert which I am very new to and served together with Raspberry, white peach and lychee popsicle . It was really refreshing and love the amazing texture of pavlova. And, they combined so well that I was craving for more.. Then on the 16th, it was a gathering for our birthday babes again. I must say, despite that we always had a hard time to come up with an a...
